Quotes

"Not because I loved Caesar less, but Rome more"
This quote basically is saying that Brutus loved and cared for Caesar, but he killed him for the better of Rome. So he didn't kill him out of hatred, just for the better of society

"Et tu, Brute?"
Caesar is wounded and notices that Brutus is stabbing him; he's become a conspirator. This means that he was pretty much turning around and was like, "Really, Brutus? You too? My best friend?"

"Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears. I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him"
This one is saying how he loved Caesar, but he's not here to put him up on a pedestal. He's here just for one purpose only; to get this funeral over & done with.
